Collaborators, Partners and Funding Organizations

Through collaboration with many other UNC departments, centers and professional schools, the CSCD facilitates a sharing of knowledge and expertise among a wide array of disciplines, including ecology, city and regional planning, hydrology, geography, sociology, governance, and business. These partnerships are attracted to potential funders and graduate students alike who have an interest in any number of varied projects the CSCD pursues. The CSCD collaborates nationally and internationally with academic institutions and government agencies.

In 2008, the CSCD, in partnership with the UNC Center for Urban and Regional Studies, began the Sustainable Communities Initiative. The Initiative is a collaborative effort that seeks to promote sustainable community growth in North Carolina through projects and research done by faculty and graduate students in both Centers.
